  • February/March intake known as Spring session
  • July/August intake known as Autumn session

In addition to these 2 intakes, some universities offer a short summer intake in October/November.

A typical session has a duration of 12-16 weeks and a short break of around 4 weeks between intakes. Students can get a full 12-16 weeks holiday during summer session.

Even though most Australian universities offer semester based academic calendar, some universities offer trimester based academic calendar. These universities offer the following intakes-

  • T1 – February intake
  • T2 – June intake
  • T3 – September intake

These universities offer summer intake as well but this summer intake is optional as students can avail the same length of break during summer.
